Many years we concentrated our efforts on supporting the children in our care. It was our first priority, although we knew that it needs more to create lasting change in the families.

When an opportunity presented itself in 2019 to expand our services to the families, we started a technical training project for the mothers and grown up sisters of children in our care. In the years 2019 and 2020 we trained a total of 16 women in sewing skills. They were taught in our centre by a very competent tailor and are now able to make clothes, curtains, school uniforms, backpacks etc. Additionally they received training in basic business management skills to enable them to start their own businesses.

Throughout this process we tried to take into account the needs and wishes of the women as much as possible. In the course of the training we therefore realized that many of the women prefer to combine the two options of having their own business (provides possibilities of growth) and employment (reliable income).

They decided to start a poultry business as a group, are sharing the work there and are also employed by Toto Angels social business on a commission basis.
